A new year has started and as I do at times, reflect on the past year. There is always time for reflection, but as this year begins, I am really looking forward to 2018. I am not one to establish goals of sorts for my Christian walk. Some put forward goals, but I have found that the Lord guides me on a path generally not as I may have intended. He is faithful to steer me as I seek Him, and He usually surpasses whatever I may be thinking I need to accomplish.
My want each year, is to fast and pray more, to get into His presence more, and to learn more of His Word and receive more revelation for understanding it. Everything else that follows is because of divine providence. God my Father, has had a plan for my life since before I was born, leading me when I let Him to fulfill the destiny in Him that He has called me to. He has given me vision of the future; I just have to trust in Him to fulfill the vision.
When it comes down to it, I do not want to be the same tomorrow, as I was today concerning my walk with Christ.
After looking at last year, and seeing what I believe to be an intense growth in the wonder of the Supernatural, and the increased awareness of the Gifts of God given to His church that are available and active. I have been amazed at the capacity that we have to engage God in areas of our lives that He has wants us to flow in.
I believe the door has always been opened, but it has been up to us to willingly and trustfully walk through that door so we can participate with the function of the Holy Spirit, to receive revelation of His purpose, to be used to set men free and expose Christ to the world.
I have found that for years, I may have had knowledge of the heavenly life, but the activation of it had to be me activating my faith to use it. I found that for years, I was operating in the elementary doctrines of Christ. I had knowledge, but no revelation, but upon receiving revelation, unfortunately I clung to the words of men, other than the Words of God, and did not move forward. I was self-deceived, as well as deceived by men and their closed teachings about our life in Christ. Primarily that the gifts are available to all.
Colossians 2:8, “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.”
I am now all about, “What did Jesus say?” That is my foundation.
Concerning my past living in that I now perceive as an elementary knowledge, the author of Hebrews says let’s move ahead:
Hebrews 6:1 Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
Many in the church live in rehash of the Word. We hear it and hear it, and think, yes that is great! Or “Good word pastor”, but we do not move into any depth of what the Word has for us. Depth comes from reading the Word, hearing the Word through revelation, believing that Word, then doing the Word, and making the Word be our life.
I chuckle reading verse 2 of Hebrews 6. It even states that the laying on of hands, is elementary. You can look at it two ways. Laying on of hands to move people in ministry, or as I perceive, the laying on of hands that brings life, healing and setting people free from bondage, yet many in the church can’t even do that, or even believe it. Men’s words again, no revelation of the truth, and no confidence in it.
I wonder how the Church of Jesus Christ, even in Kenosha will move ahead in the spiritual overcoming life that shakes the world around us, if we can’t move to the next levels of our Christian walk with Christ?
We are coming into a season in 2018 that we as a church cannot live in the mundane. We cannot operate in the basic basics. As we see our world and what is happening around us, we should be aware that things around us are falling into place that were prophesied thousands of years ago.
We have consistently seen a falling away over the past 30 years.
Generation after generation has walked from the church because of consistently receiving the milk of the Word with no power to sustain. We know many who say, that they believe in Jesus, but they do not live for Jesus. They knew him maybe from Sunday School as a child, but today, they only remember verses that rhyme or the old kiddie worship songs they sung, but other than that no revelation of the power of God in anyone’s lives. With no revelation, there is no connection to the one who gave the Word to set men free. Not even seeing God’s power manifest through healing, which leaves a hollow gospel.
We as the church must operate in the fullness of Christ. Our spiritual life, and the lives of others depends on it. The fullness of life that has been freely given to us who believe.
Colossians 2:9, “For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete.”
We have been made complete, but the issue is our knowledge of our completeness. I do not think that many of us really have revelation of who we are in Christ. Yes, we read about it in the Word, but have we received revelation in the inner man to believe it enough to operate in that belief? Knowledge comes from the study of the Word, but heightened revelation of the Word only comes through the Holy Spirit. So we must be engaged with the Holy Spirit to hear. If we ask, we receive. Jesus said,
Matthew 7:7, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. “
John 15:7, "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 1 John 5:14
We must ask, we must do what Jesus did.
The man Jesus knew where His strength and revelation came from. He spoke to God, as we read, all the time in the Gospels. Even as the Son of God, He went to the Father, and we as adopted sons and daughters need to the same and more.
Last week when I read about what the prophet Stacey Campbell said at the One Thing Conference about the revelation she and others received, saying that the revelation we are going to receive here in the future, will only come from our rearranging our lives to be in constant contact with God through the Holy Spirit in the secret place. She said things are shifting in the Spirit, and that word has come from many others who are hearing from the Lord, and some of us local pastors who hear, and the prophets behind us are hearing and saying the same thing.
We need men and women to be like the men of Issachar.
1Ch 12:32, “ Of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do,”
We are in that day! We need to be awake and aware in the Spirit in the knowledge of God.
Stacey said we “The Holy People” she used that specific term, will be like the Prophet Daniel. We need to be engaged with the Holy Spirit. She said that knowledge is going to increase, another word that we have been hearing.
How can we like a Daniel? She even mentioned Joseph, we will be like Joseph in the marketplace. How can we be like Joseph? How are we going to recieve this increased knowledge and operate in it?
How will we know the answers to the times? How will we receive knowledge that will only come from heaven? Well we know! On our knees, in the Spirit, in that secret place where ever we hide away in prayer and access Throne Room. We go to the House of Prayer in Heaven where the prayers of the saints go.
As we seek out the Lord, and pray for revelation, and pray for wisdom, we will be like Peter and John in Acts 4:13. They were known by people the people around them, but in this instance, their acquaintances knew they were different. There was a change, a shift in their demeanor, and the words they spoke. They were not the same men. The people knew they had been with Jesus because of their boldness, and the words they spoke. These were not words by mere men. They spoke truth, and that truth could only have been divinely inspired and given to them. They knew the times, and they even caused the times to change. Through them, the Lord caused a shift. A shift that changed the world.
When you have an interaction with the Holy God, you are not the same, and as you continually meet with Him, He changes everything about you.
We know that, but He is calling the church, His sons and daughters to also make a shift in these days. These days are not like the other days. These days are different and are going to continue to change at a rapid pace spiritually, mentally, and physically. God is calling us out.
He is saying that today is the day to get ready! I am about to pour Myself out on the whole earth, but I will pour Myself out only on those who have sealed Me in their hearts, and who are seeking me diligently.
The Holy People will be needed in these days. It is time for us to live as a kingdom, and as Priests to God as stated in Revelation 1:5.
Revelation 1:5-6, “To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood 6 and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
We are a kingdom, the kingdom of heaven. We are part of the kingdom through adoption, and as a kingdom, we have been established to take the ground around us and reestablish it into the Kingdom. As priests, where the root of priest is servant, we are given the responsibility to have the answers. Answers to this life. Even answers to correct the ills of society. We used to. Now we need to reestablish that thought and life.
As Stacey Campbell said that in Toronto, business leaders are calling on leaders of the church to give them insight. That is how it should be in Kenosha. We should be the leaders in all knowledge. We should be the leaders in all technology, and music, and health, and the list goes on. We were created that way. Look at Adam. Our minds were created to be eternal, to think with supernatural thought that is given directly from God.
But we must change the way we think about ourselves, the way we think about our spiritual gifting’s, our abilities, and our knowledge, and understand that we are the Holy People of God.
We who have the capacity to possess heavenly thoughts and attributes, who must go to God and pray for revelation that the Word of God in us will be activated so we can live in the fullness that He intended. Ephesians 3:20,
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
We need to ask, we need to seek, and we need to knock. Complacency should not be a part of our lives. Really to survive in the coming age before us, some of us really need to reanalyze our lives and who we are in Christ. I look back to move forward, and just as Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesians.
Ephesians 1:17, “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might”
I pray, that as we press in, our Father in Heaven, will pour Himself out on us so much, that we will be in awe of the revelation, and knowledge He is giving us to move in the heavenly places of thought to be the hope which He called us to.
The people around us need that hope. People who do not know Christ are living in a barren landscape in their hearts. They try to fill the void in their life with the things of this world that only leaves them more helpless, and barren and distraught, and wow, we have the answer.
But it is upon us to not only know the answer, but deliver the answer. The delivery may come in different forms, but all from one Spirit, from one God through His Son Jesus Christ. We have been the recipients, but now we need to be the deliverers. And when we deliver it, the power and the majesty of God to those who are orphaned, and lost, and empty, and hurt who have no real direction, it should be our prayer, that the revelation that there is God in Heaven who loves them should hit them with such clarity that their only want is to be filled with God and His presence.
Just as today is the day of salvation for those who don’t Jesus, today for the Followers of Christ it is a day to look inward and take inventory of our lives, and ask ourselves, do we believe? And if we believe, what are we doing with that belief? Truthfully our belief should be moving mountains. Is it? And if not why and what are we going to do about it?
2018 I believe is not going to be a year for the faint of heart for the casual believer. Those who want will receive and move in power, and those who don’t will watch themselves be passed by. Hopefully they will catch the train while it is pulling out of the station.
I want to be in the front of the train where all of the action is happening. Because that means people are being revived, healed, and brought into the kingdom. It means the church is being activated to the greatness it has been called to. I do not want regrets on what I should have done, I have had enough of that. I want to wake up every morning and ask God, what adventure do you have for me today, because I can’t wait.
