The Shift

The Shift

I use the word shift, because this year and the end of the last I have heard that word used many times here lately. It goes back into last year actually. A shift meaning that God will be expressing Himself through His Spirit here in Kenosha, as well as in other cities and we will see it and sense it. And specifically, those believers who are sensitive to the moving of the Holy Spirit will sense God moving first as it will be like a whisper, but I truly believe for others it will come to a place where even those who are not sensitive will begin experiencing the manifestations of the Spirit of God to a point that it will change their minds on how God operates and see that what they read in God’s Word is true.

Friends of mine who are Pastors in this City who are Seers, they operate in the Prophetic have spoken of these days and are experiencing themselves subtle shifts in the Spirit over this city, but sensing that a larger move of God is coming. And this sense is not only here but in many other places if you are tied into the prophetic voices.

Jesus is prompting and preparing His end times church for a revival that will surpass any from the former days.

And we can sense and feel the rumblings now.

Pastors and leaders have been crying out for more of God in the secret place. Congregations and local church communities are increasing in hunger for the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is hovering over local churches, noticeably charging the spiritual climate. It is happening here. I believe we opened a door to it, or turned the key to unlock it at the Natural Supernatural Conference a couple weeks back. God is positioning Himself over Kenosha and the surrounding area and I as some of the Pastors have heard in the Spirit, He is opening portals over city. Over churches and neighborhoods to begin releasing His Spirit with Supernatural power to accomplish Supernatural works of healing and justice over the area.

God is opening a door to allow us to supernaturally bring heaven to earth in a greater way even this year and we must be aware and available to move in it. God wants to cause an awakening in this region that will cause an effect in others.

We were created to have authority in Jesus, and as I have said before this church and the believers who will be within will be watchmen for the region. As Watchmen will have the power to open doors and close doors by our word as we speak the Word of God. That open and closing will cause a shift in the Spirit in this city. Now we are not the only watchmen, there are others.

This is nothing new, believers have had this authority since the beginning. Jesus gave us the authority in His name. Jesus said in Matthew 28, that all authority in Heaven and Earth has been given to Him. So go and make Disciples. Surely I am with you. We go in His name and His authority in His anointing.

The thing is we have not used the authority as we should have possibly due to unbelief and due to us being asleep, or wasting time fighting satanic forces and ideals that we should not be fighting, because who we are in Christ. We have forgot who we are and the authority we have in Jesus. It really surprises me how we allow the enemy to beat us up when he has no authority to do so, and how we agree with his lies. I do it, then it’s like, “What a minute!” Take a hike. Be like Jesus and throw some scripture at him and tell him to take a hike.

We really need to get God’s Word right here (point to the heart), and right here (point to the head), and when it’s really stuck in those places, when the enemy throws something at us to trip us up, make us feel bad, or generally just be a pest, God’s Word that is so totally implanted in us will just blurt out and pour water on the lies that are spoken to us and it will just float away. Just think of it, Satan slithers up on his belly to yell up lies to us. Just look down, because that is really where he is at to whispering to us to make us feel whatever we are feeling. He is a defeated foe. Treat him like one.

In three weeks it will be Easter. For believer’s in Christ, this “holiday” we celebrate….. it is the big event. We celebrate where God came down from heaven to be a man, to save us from our sins.

Jesus the Son of God, who is God, gave His life freely to die for us, and it changed all of humanity from that day forth.

The event of His resurrection caused a life changing shift in the Spirit and even in the physical realm that still has not changed today. The power of the shift today is still as strong as it was in Jesus day. From the time when an Angel spoke to Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of Jamesat the tomb saying,Luke 24:4,“Why do you seek the living from the dead? He is not here, but is risen.” It was like Whoa! Jesus was right!

So the reality of the risen Savior changed everything, and when His followers saw and touched Him, the reality of the truth of the Word of God from the beginning, now thrust us into a living eternity. When Jesus ascended, everything connected to creation at that time changed because the supernatural spiritual dominion that was mans in the beginning was now returned to him.

Creation moved from death to life. Heaven and eternity was now infused into the earth as it had been in the beginning, and we were now saved from the wrath of God if we believed.

But not only were we saved through our vocal salvation, we were empowered by the Holy Spirit to bring life to others like Jesus did.

Looking at the shift in the Spirit of Jesus day, and thinking about what God wants to do today, I thought about some of the other shifts. So I looked back and picked some out. Some of these shifts mirroring what we are see today.

30AD, Resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and the initial spread of the Gospel. The church started out with a big bang. But it only took 430 years, for things to totally change. We know that Jerusalem was trashed in 70AD by the Romans, but the church flourished until:

  1. The Dark Ages, some will say this was a time that occurred because of the fall of Rome in AD 476, with Europe being overrun by barbaric tribes which happened, but others see it, like I see it, paganism sifted into the church of Europe, and monasticism a new religious movement infiltrated the church, celibate monks, priests, and nuns, with a focus more on the church, other than Jesus. Also, the church tolerated the teaching of Balaam. Such as stated in Revelation 2:14-15. Teacher JC Cogland says in summary,

“Balaam, if he were among us, would be considered the pattern of a religious character; he lived at a very high standard, and followed it rigidly. His character was to serve God without loving Him; to seek his own will and his own ends, and yet to contrive to keep out of punishment at His hands within the strict letter of God's commandments.”

Balaam "taught Balak," says the Apostle John, "to cast a stumbling-block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication." Balaam would not curse, because he was told in so many words not to curse; but he brought about a like end, by worse means — all in order that his own selfish desires might be gratified.

The church in the Dark ages, the church became like the churches of Pergamum, and Thyatira as stated in Revelation chapter 2. It became a church that wanted power over the people to satisfy its own desires. It caused many to sin, and die during that period.

  1. The Protestant Reformation, October 31, 1517, Martin Luther nails his 95 Theses on the door of Wittenburg Cathedral. Changed the whole landscape of the church. Grace by Faith and not of Works. Which opened the door of Christian thought and exploration of the Word of God through theologians like Calvin, Zwingli, and Knox. Unfortunately, though, these religious teachers did not come to a place to expose the Holy Spirit and His power for the people. They thought it was for times past.

  1. William Tyndale translates the Bible into a modern English in 1529 AD. He is strangled and burned at the stake in 1563 by the church of Rome, along others who had his Bible who were now all considered heretics. One year later King Henry VIII declared the Bible legal to be read and possessed. The King James Bible was authorized in 1611 basically a revised copy of the Tyndale, so now the Word of God would spread.

  1. The 1stGreat Awakeningbeginning in 1727-1750 in England as well as the United States. John and Charles Wesley, Jonathon Edwards both in England and America, and Evangelist George Whitefield in America. Whitfield traveled the US colonies from top to bottom, preaching the gospel that not only affected the British colonials, but also the Germans, and the Dutch, and represented for the first time African Americans embracing Christianity in large numbers. Early denominations grew, but to me the largest effect it had was on the soon to be United States of America.

The awakening caused great men to create a government that served the people, and as John Adams a signer of the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights and our 2ndPresident of the United States stated, “The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: it connected, in one indissoluble bond, the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.” American government was to be based on Godly principles which would set a standard for the nation, and would make it a shining light for others as it established itself as a large governing power.

  1. The 2ndgreat Awakening. Which began around 1790-1850; Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Anglican, and Congregationalist Congregations grew during this period. New denominations like the Church of God and 7thDay Adventist came into being.

The African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME) in Philadelphia, and the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church (AME Zion) in New York City, both new independent African American Denominations would begin under African American leadership. A first for our nation.

During this time, congregations had an appeal to the super-natural and holiness, wanting to restore a purer form of Christianity without an elaborate hierarchy. They looked to go back to the old ways of the church. Furthermore, women began taking a greater role in leadership with in the church at this time.

There was also revival in Scotland, England, and Switzerland.

  1. And during the 1800’s the Missionary & Prayer Movement exploded. J Hudson Taylor, Charles Spurgeon, EM Bounds, Rees Howells, David Livingstone, Andrew Murray, and Dwight L Moody, to name a few. Men of prayer, men who preached the Gospel and spreading that Gospel to the ends of the earth.

  1. And this all leads into the Pentecostal Movementwhich began at a prayer meeting at Bethel Bible College in Topeka, Kansas (January 1, 1901). Agnes Nevada Ozman became the first member of the student body at Bethel to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues. Her experience historically marks the beginning of modern Pentecostalism, and that led to year 1906 with the Azusa Street Revival with an outpouring of the Spirit of God to regenerate a nation, and the earth as it did.

There have been many revivals since then, the Jesus movement in 1969, Toronto 1994, Brownsville in 1995, today in England, China, and the Middle East with thousands of Muslims coming to Christ.

Why do I bring all of this up? Because God loves his Children. He loves us with an everlasting love, but yes He is just. I have to say that. Look at Israel and what they went through when they turned their backs on Him in the Old Testament?

But He sent a Savior in Jesus Christ. He fulfilled a promise. That promise opened the door of salvation to others. To us!

2Pe 3:9, “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”

A promise fufilled.

God is not only concerned about His chosen people, but all of His creation. Because God longs for all of His creation to turn to Him, be saved and know their Creator intimately, to advance His kingdom on this earth and spend all of eternity with Him. God does not choose one, and rejects another.

And when I look back at some of our church history, you see God moving on men and women to change a culture and even change history. Martin Luther, Tyndale, Wesley, Moody, Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, Kathryn Kuhlman, and the list can go on.

God used people, ordinary people to reshape history, and I will use that word, Shift. A spiritual shift happened because these ordinary people who were moved by God, listened, moved out in faith, some with the knowledge they could lose their lives and some did, al so that God would be glorified and for many, that the truth of who God is would be revealed to those who had no clue who He is.

We are coming into an age, and I am calling it an age, because I truly believe and I believe many of you feel the same that we are now stepping into history and we are going to see the greatest outpouring of the Holy Spirit that has ever been seen since Pentecost.

Pentecost caused the whole of Jerusalem to be shaken and people moved by the outpouring of the Spirit. The last time there was probably an all-out manifestation of the Spirit in Jerusalem was back during Solomon’s reign in 2 Chronicles 7.

2Ch 7:1-3 As soon as Solomon finished his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. 2 And the priests could not enter the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD filled the LORD's house. 3 When all the people of Israel saw the fire come downand the glory of the LORD on the temple, they bowed down with their faces to the ground on the pavement and worshiped and gave thanks to the LORD, saying, “For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”

That impact on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2 was 3000 people believed in Jesus, and in Acts 4, another 5000 came to Christ, so Jesus had 8000 disciples to preach what they had seen, and experienced.

The Book of Joel chapter 2 is being spoken much of here lately, and there is currently a 40-day fast that was called to usher in a mighty move of the Spirit even this year.

Joe 2:28-32 “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. 29 Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit.

30 “And I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes. 32 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

And truthfully I believe it is beginning. I know its beginning when I hear a very high level Spirit-Filled Elder from a non-spirit filled denomination, one of the largest in the US, say there is about to be a Supernatural move of God in their movement. The Holy Spirit is beginning to wreck them, and change the hearts of men to the supernatural so they can come into conformity with the whole Word of God. That the Pentecost of Acts 2 is for all of us today. John MacArthur going to have a heart attack!

The Shift is coming. An outpouring of the Spirit. Heaven is being prayed down by believing Saints like never before to see a move of God.

Not only an outpouring with saving power to see thousands come to believe in Christ as their Savior will be seen, but to see these Believers function in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with Fire to bring healing to the nations with such power and anointing that it will cause a division of believers to take place, in the church. Believers and Unbelievers.

And I had to reread that after I was so furiously typing that. Individuals who do not know Christ will believe because of the manifestations of the Spirit. It happened in Jesus time, as well as today.

The Spirit was saying to me, it will be like Israel when Jesus was on the earth, and after His resurrection and the outpouring of the Spirit. When God moves like never before, individuals will have to make a choice as to whom they will follow. It will be that black and white. In Jesus day, families split over Jesus. It will happen today. It is happening. Churches will split over Jesus.

You will either operate in the supernatural or be completely disgusted by it and not believe just like the Pharisees did. People will leave churches to go to others because of the freedom to operate in the Spirit. That will be a huge Shift. Unfortunately, that is when you will see a great falling away, we are beginning to see it. I believe many will receive Christ because of the outpouring, but I believe many will leave Him, because they did not know Him.

2 Thessalonians 2 speaks that in the last days that we should not be deceived. For the end will not come until a great falling away first. Falling away is “apostasia” in the Greek. Defection from truth, separation or divorcement. We are seeing that divorcement in great numbers, some are leaving the faith, others choose to disregard the Word and preach a dead kingdom in error.

But a noticeable shift is coming soon, and I believe as others it will begin this year.

This is the year of Renewal and an Open Door.

I have heard two prophecies about open doors for this church. That a key will be given to open doors for revival. So as this prophecy comes to mind, I have been praying, and asking God for revelation what specifically to pray for to open these doors.

I have also been praying for us, that God would ignite a Fire in us to be like some of those who God ignited to be bold in His Spirit to change the culture even if we have to stand alone. Even with the knowledge like those of old knowing that people would attack us because of our belief in God and His promises. Some of us take verbal abuse because we believe what Jesus said. I have been told that some have said I do not preach the truth. I try to teach what Jesus said. Oh Well!

God is calling us to stand, and by using His Words to move Him to open up heaven where we tread our feet to bring Him into the mix of our lives to infuse His Son Jesus into everything to explode everything that isn’t of God and move in the Supernatural like Jesus did and His Disciples to blow up old dead beliefs to show that the Kingdom of God is at hand and anyone can possess it. And all we have to have is mustard seed faith to do it.

Because the time is coming when we have to make a decision. Will we follow Christ in the fullness of His Word or not? Will we be counted in our out? Will we shift into darkness, or will we continue to shift into the greater glory of the light of Christ?

I’m not speaking to new babes in Christ here. But is time to make our mark for Christ and do what He told us to do 2000 years ago. That has not changed. I so love what Jesus said in:

Matthew 11:12, “From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been suffering violence, and the violent have been taken it by force.”

We need to take the Kingdom of God by force and display it where we venture. It’s time for us to be violent in prayer, vigilant in the pursuit of God, and seize the moment when the doors open to fulfill our destiny as forerunners for Jesus in this hurting world. We need to operate in the supernatural power of God to snatch people from the fire of this dark age and save them.

Be tuned into the Holy Spirit and be ready, the shift is coming, and when it comes, run and take the ground, because I sense that the windows of heaven will be open only for a season because a great end times spiritual battle will begin and draw us to the end of the age.
