The Church Aware - Possibilities With God

October 13, 2018

Luke 1:37, “For nothing will be impossible with God.”

Here is the issue and basis for my text tonight:

Many people today are struggling with life issues, and I know have spoken about this before. Maybe too much, but for us to move ahead as the body of Christ, we must be intentional to move forward into our belief that our God is everything we will ever need.

Our struggle with our health, finances, relationships, and with people in general, we need to come to a place where we not only have peace in those struggles, but come to a place where we over come them and have complete breakthrough. Living an overcoming life, “on earth as it is in heaven.” Yes things may pop up from time to time, but when and if they arise, we see them as just a nuisance that we will cast down verbally backed up with the spiritual power that is within us, all backed up by the Word of God.

For us who are in relationship with Christ, we need to come to a position in our hearts, and minds that our physical struggles come originate from spiritual ones. Spiritual issues drive the physical, so we must use the spiritual to overcome the physical. And I have said that before. You understand what I mean, right?

We cannot let our physical nature, our physical being, be affected or directed by the physical forces around us. For instance, someone hurt us. Or we act out certain ways because of hurts, or pressures on us, or we are trying to forget. As believers, we must force the physical to be directed by the spiritual. We have to quit believing what we see, or hear that does not line up with the truth of God’s Word. Satan is a deceiver, and he will use the things of this world to deceive us. He is great at it, and because he knows us, he will use the things he knows about us, against us. We must end that by profession. End it by the Word of God speaking forth the promises of Jesus for us to live a life of freedom in Him.

Satan has had a lot of practice and Jesus is saying, believe in me, and get into the Spirit so you can see what is happening in the darkness so you can spread light onto the situation. Speaking of the Spirit, Jesus said in:

John 14:16-18, “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever. He is the Spirit of truth. The world is unable to receive Him because it doesn’t see Him or know Him. But you do know Him, because He remains with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you.”

The word comforter used by Jesus comes from the Greek parákletos that means “a counselor, a helper, an intercessor, an advocate, a strengthener, or a standby.”

Kletos from the word parakletos comes from the word, kaleo, and it means someone who stands by us. That’s why Jesus said he would not leave us as orphans so we who have the Holy Spirit in us, can view what is going on around us through the eyes of the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit will give us revelation of what is happening in the physical, unfortunately I believe many times He does and we blow Him off. We must listen to the Holy Spirit so He can move us to live in the supernatural and not in such a physical state of mind.

When we were born, we born with a physical state of mind. When we are born again, we are born into a supernatural heavenly state of mind if we choose to live in it.

Colossians 3:1-3, “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”

In verse 5, Paul says to “put to death what belongs to your worldly nature.” Let go of the old life, the old nature, into the supernatural. We not only give up sin, but move into a new way of thinking.

When our minds are set on things above as the Apostle Paul said, we will see the truth of what is happening around us and even to us, and it causes us to believe in what we formerly thought was impossible. Us being free from our past. Being healed of sickness. Having relationships restored. Having dreams become reality. For many people, life issues have hung on for so long, they think it can never change. But that is not true.

Remember when the Angel Gabriel was speaking to Mary the Mother of Jesus about her birthing the Savior? He said something that was profound and everlasting.

In Luke 1:37 he said, “For nothing will be impossible with God.”

Yes, Mary was confronted by the Angel Gabriel with that statement. She was involved in the greatest things to happen on heaven and earth since creation. We read in Luke 1, Gabriel speaking to Mary and telling her that she would conceive and give birth to a son, and name Him Jesus. That He would be great, and would be called the Son of the Most High. He would be the Son of God. His Kingdom would have no end. That had to blow Mary’s mind.

Mary said, “How can this be?” Because she was a virgin probably 18 years or younger.
Gabriel said, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the shadow of the Most High will

overshadow you.” Why, or How? “Because nothing is impossible with God.”

So Mary a virgin conceives a child by the Holy Spirit, and it was a miraculous thing. Jesus was born of a miracle, and that was how His life would be while He was on the earth. He was a walking miracle, who did miracles.

John the Baptist who came before Him, was born to a mother who was barren. Elizabeth his mother was of an old age the Bible says, “but God said.” That same angel Gabriel ~ six months earlier from when he spoke to Mary, confronted Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist and told him, “your wife will bear you a son.” “He will be great in the sight of the Lord.” ”He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, while still in his mother’s womb.” “He will turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God. And he will go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah,”

Heavy words to this Priest, but the Angel’s words were true, and Zechariah’s wife conceived in her old age and bore him a son.

“How can this be?” Zechariah asked the Angel. We know why. Because nothing is impossible with God.

When Jesus was released into His ministry at age 30, He demonstrated that nothing was impossible. Jesus the Son of God as we know healed the sick, set people free from evil spirits, raised the dead, and His wisdom was beyond men. Jesus overcame the darkness that prevailed on the earth at that time, and what was marvelous, He put on us the ability to do the same.

When Jesus was resurrected from the dead, He was resurrected with the same power of creation, and that same power was in His Blood that was shed for the remission of our sins. That’s miraculous. That is Supernatural! And that same blood is operating in that same power today, that heals and restores us, and set us free. That same power is available for us to use if we believe.

There are so many possibilities when we believe that nothing is impossible with God. Those possibilities are endless. We must wrap our minds around the eternal, because God is eternal, He is endless, and what He can do is endless. We cannot look at Him like we look at a man.

When dealing with our own condition, how we think, and how we live, if we are in Christ, if we believe, our thinking and motivations should be to operate as though nothing is impossible for us. We must step out of the earthly paradigm that we have grown up in and move into the life of the eternal.

God never intended for us to deal with our own condition, our issues of life. We were created by God to rely on Him for all our needs. He is a big enough God to feed us, clothe us, heal us, and even protect us, but we in our free will, need to move toward God and His promises.

Jesus knew better, He said, John 5:30, “I can do nothing on my own initiative.”

Basically, I can’t do anything on my own. Jesus was fully committed to God for everything. And being fully committed, His life was always moving ahead. He truly walked from glory to glory, and that is available to us.

Jesus was the example of a life fully lived. That fully lived life was totally connected into His Father in Heaven. Jesus consulting with His Father, then He did something. Jesus had free will. He was a man. But He knew where His life came from, so He humbled Himself to live in the Father’s will and not His own.

In John 5:19, Jesus said, “The Son is not able to do anything on His own, but only what He sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does these things in the same way.”

Did you get that last part, “whatever the Father does, the Son also does these things in thesame way.”

If Jesus followed His Father in Heaven to do exactly what He was doing and really prospered from it, wouldn’t we do exactly what Jesus did for the same outcome? Jesus copied His Dad. We’ve see children do this. Good and bad results have come from that, but if we do what Jesus did, would we not prosper too? Copy our Father in Heaven.

Because Jesus mirrored God, He found perfect success. So wouldn’t that resonate in our Spirits to do the same? Nothing stood in the way of Jesus in what He wanted to accomplish. Except our unbelief. Remember when Jesus was in His hometown? The people shut Him down. We cannot let unbelief shut us down.

When Jesus’ Disciples copied Him, they had similar success, and I am speaking more after Jesus ascended into heaven and they had received the Helper, the Holy Spirit. There was no talk of “ye of little faith” reading the Book of Acts on.

Reading about the Apostle Paul, he was a mimic of Christ and even called himself a slave to Him, and when you look at Jesus’ responses about His relationship with His father, we might think that He was like a slave too. But not the way we think.

They were free. Free and slave doesn’t seem to go together in our vocabulary does it? But they were free men, and they knew where their strength and success came from. They were obedient to the leading of God in their lives. Jesus said,

John 6:38, “For I have come down from heaven, not to do my will, but do the will of Him who sent me.’ Jesus freely came to do the will of His Father.

When you believe in your heart for the impossible, that impossible becomes possible. That is what I am trying to get into our heads so we can get it into our heart, into our Spirit.

Our God is the God of the impossible. Since He is the Almighty, there is nothing to keep Him from doing anything He wants to do. We must believe that. He fulfills His Word.

“All things are possible with God.” In our lives!

But as I said before, we must transform our minds with the Word of God and what He has said to believe Him.

With His words, we go to Him in prayer as a child seeking Him for assurance and peace. I say like a child, because child like faith has trust. Children trust their parents for protection. They trust them for their sustenance. To be fed and clothed. To be made well when they are sick.

We go to our Father in Heaven the same way with the same attitude.

But after we go to Him, we can’t turn back. We stand on our the words prayed to Him in belief of His Word. When we speak in faith to Him in prayer, we stand on those words. We don’t go back on them to unbelief, or going back to old ways of self-reliance that gets us nowhere.

Old ways are old thoughts, old habits from and old life. The old life is fleshly and nothing can be accomplished by it. There is no power in it. When we go to God, in the name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, we enter into a realm outside of the flesh. God is a Spirit, so we enter into His presence in the Spirit, and He acts through the Spirit.

Through the Spirit, God moves the physical, that’s why we can’t do anything on our own. That is why Jesus said He didn’t do anything on His own. That is why Jesus when He walked this earth taught His Disciples by example that if you want to change something, something that does not align itself with Heaven, or the Word of God, you do it in the Spirit, and you speak my name into the situation. In the Name of Jesus.

When you humble yourself before the Almighty God, He empowers you to do the impossible.

He fulfills His Word.“All things are possible with God.” In our lives!

But as I said before, we must transform our minds with the Word of God and what He has said to believe Him.

They trust them for their sustenance. To be fed and clothed. To be made well when they are sick.We go to our Father in Heaven the same way with the same attitude.

That is why He said,

“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Matthew 21:22 Emphasis Prayer!

Proverbs 3:5, ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not in your own understanding.”

So we pray, and trust the Lord and rely on what is happening in the physical that may cause deception.

In prayer, we are in a state of humility before the Lord, or we should be, so our hearts will be aligned with Him as only a humble heart can touch His heart.

James 4:6, “God opposes the proud and shows favor to the humble.”

James 4:10, “Humble yourselves before the Lord and He will lift you up.”

So we bow our inner selves to Him in worship and adoration and go to Him as a child and pray His word into our lives and situations to move the spiritual as well as the physical to bring change in the name of Jesus.

And believe 2 Chronicles 7:14, that if we seek heaven with a humble heart, God hears from heaven and acts on our prayers.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

He said He will heal our land. He will heal us.

If we believe in Jesus for salvation, we can surely believe in Jesus for everything else too.

I remember in my twenties, crying out to God:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13, over and over and over again.

“Jesus, you are the one who strengthens me.” You are the one who sets my path straight. You are the one who gives me power. You are the one whose name I speak and mountains move. Move on my behalf oh Lord. Do what you said you would do. Be my advocate. Be my healer.

So when I speak the name of Jesus against the darkness in my life and others, by the Word of God, I can accomplish anything, because I can do all things through Him. That is my heritage and that is in my spiritual DNA. Nothing can stand up to you Lord, so nothing can stand against me. I, who am a person of your presence, filled with the Holy Spirit, who has access to the Throne Room of God, I pray out my requests to you, and you hear me. Your Word proclaims it.

"You are my refuge and a strong tower, for me. You hear me, and I have a heritage in you because I believe." Psalms 61:3,5.

"Your name oh Lord is a strong tower, and I run into it and you protect me." Proverbs 18:10.

"And I run to you with humility and you honor me." Proverbs 18:12.

I know your word is true Lord, because you will do as you say on my behalf, because you said,

“So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

Lord, you want us whole. You want us healed. You want us to be free from the bondage of this world. That is why you gave your Word to us. And that is why He was on this earth to free us from ourselves. That is why You sent Your Holy Spirit, so He would stand beside us, and guide us in all things so we would not be alone to face the darkness.

So in Christ, we live in confidence, we live empowered; we live the overcoming life because we do not doubt Him. He is the Almighty God, and nothing is impossible for Him.

I pray oh God over your people. I break the bondage of unbelief off of the them In Jesus name. I break every curse off of them in Jesus name. I cast down every idol over their lives so they will live in freedom. I pray faith on them, supernatural faith to believe that nothing is impossible for them to accomplish. We are your people oh God, and you have given us the best for our lives. You have given your best, Jesus so that we will be free in Jesus, and live the overcoming, empowered life of freedom in you! We praise you Lord, and worship you, the great God. Amen!
