God's will is Healing Part 3
God's Will Is Healing
Part 3: The Role of Faith In Healing
Jesus came to reveal the heart and nature of the Father. John 14:9 Hebrews 1:3, John 5:19.
The healings and the miracles that Jesus did were the works of the Father. "I must work the works of him who sent me while it is day" John 9:4, in the context of healing a man who was blind since birth.
...'How he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil for God was with Him. Acts 10:38
The question for most people seeking God for healing is not is He able. It is: Is He Willing? The difference between the two Is what triggers faith to be healed.
Healing is purchased in the Atonement, through the Cross. Isaiah 53:3-5 and Matthew 8:16. Through Jesus death on the Cross, all of the blessings of heaven are ours. Healing is not an add on.
The Greek word for salvation is Sozo (Strong's Concordance 4982). It means: to save, bring safely, ensure salvation, get well, made well.
When Adam and Eve sinned, it affected them spirit, soul, and body. Wouldn't God's remedy for that sin remedy the effect of that sin, spirit, soul and body? That would mean that the cure is inferior to the disease.
We have faith in Jesus, that He is able to save to the uttermost (Hebrews 7:25).
Role of Faith
1. Two important scriptures about faith are found in Hebrews 11.
Hebrews 11:1 AMP, "Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality-faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].
"And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarded of those who seek Him.
Faith is the doorway into the kingdom of God. John 3:16, ...whosoever believes (has faith) in Him, shall not perish, but shall have everlasting life.
Faith allows us to interact with the things of God in his kingdom, which are spiritual. We walk by faith, and not by sight (11 Corinthians 5:7)
So then Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
In Galatians 3:2, "This is the only thing I want to find out from you:did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?
We get saved by faith, we receive the Spirit by faith and we receive healing by faith.
James 5:14, "Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven."
Faith and Healing
Matthew 9:20-22 — Jesus healing the woman with the internal hemorrhage who touched the fringe of his cloak..."Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well."
Luke 17:12, Jesus healing ten leper's us men. When the one returned who was grateful, Jesus said to him, 'Stand up and go; your faith has made you well.'
People came to Jesus to get healed. Matthew 14: 34-36, "When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret. And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent word into all that surrounding district and brought to Him all who were sick; and they implored Him that they might touch the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were cured."
Faith possesses the things of God. It is persistent and does not take no for an answer. Luke 18:1-8. The Parable of the Woman and the Unjust Judge. Jesus makes it clear that the parable is about faith.
Matthew 11:12 NASB From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent men take it by force."
The enemies to faith are unbelief and indifference.
a. James 1 says that a man who has doubt should not expect to receive anything from God.
Hebrews 3:19 it says that the reason that the original group of the Israelites could not enter into the promise land was because of their unbelief.
Read Luke 11:5-13 AMP Jesus gave examples of how persistence is essential to receiving.
God Has Given Healing Tο Believers As A Witness to the World
Matthew 10:1-8 Freely you received, freely give.
Mark 16:17-20. These signs will follow those who believe.
Acts 3:6-8 ...Such as I have I give to you.
Acts 6&8 — Non-apostles, Stephen and Philip performed healing and deliverance like Jesus. There job in the church was to pass out food to widows.
God put healing into the ministry of the local church. I Corinthians 12 (gifts of healing) and James 5, healing through anointing the sick and the prayer of faith.
How Do Prayer and Healing Work
Faith is a decision made in the heart to completely believe what God has said.
Mark 11:23, 24. "Whosoever says to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the see,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what He says is going to happen, it will be granted him. Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you HAVE RECEIVED them and the will be :ranted. You receive your answer to prayer, when you pray in faith. Faith is the title deed.
Old Testament Example: In Daniel 10 after praying for 21 days an angel came with the answer to his prayer. He told him that God heard his prayer the first day he prayed, but that Satan withstood him for 21 days, holding up the answer. Daniel's persistence was key.
I John 5:14, 15 carries the same relationship of faith to receiving. "This is the confidence which we have before Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in
whatever we ask, we KNOW that we have the requests that we have asked from Him.
Jesus demonstrated the love of God toward people through making them physically well.
Jesus paid for your healing on the cross.
Sozo is God's answer to Adam's sin which affected the human race spirit, soul, and body.
Faith is a necessary ingredient in walking with God and participating in his kingdom.
Real faith has already settled the question of God's ability, and is convinced completely on His willingness to do what He has promised.
Faith is persistence and does not take no for an answer, once it knows that something is God's will.
When faith prays, it receives it as done, when it prays, and thanks God for the future manifestation to the answer to prayer, if it is not instantaneous.
Answered prayer is a given to someone who understands their position in Christ as one who is commanded to come boldly to the throne of Grace, because he is already seated with Christ in the heavenly places, far above all satanic powers and authority.
This is why the gates of hell cannot prevail against the Church, including in the matter of sickness and disease. Matthew 16:18 and Luke 10:19.
